Since the 1970s, Independent Truck Company chose the rounded cross logo at its founding from day one. Hence, the company said that their Independent round cross design is not an Iron Cross, which has straight sides and is not a racist hate symbol.
"Independent Truck Company does not and has never stood for the promotion of hate." They said. "We strongly denounce all forms of discrimination, racism, hate, and racial injustice. We believe in the power of skateboarding as a positive force in the world."
Despite their explanation, Indy had to remove its logo and change it for the better. Independent had pulled the cross logo from all their trucks even though their slogan before was "Ride The Best. Fuck The Rest." As it turns out, It's not about "Fuck The Rest" anymore but "Please The Rest."
Pool posted three logo images and edited the color of the logos to make a statement that whenever people say something or complain, a company can easily be persuaded to change it to avoid the backlash and cancel culture.
