Skateboarding Influencer and YouTube sensation John Hill has been skateboarding for many years and has lived in New York for quite a while. However, he doesn't hang out with skateboarders in New York.

In a new YouTube video, the 32-year-old skateboarder explained why he ended up skating the most with a scooter kid named Jon Reyes, a fellow YouTuber who lives in New York.

In skateboarding in general, scooters are being frowned upon by many skateboarders as they end up sitting on obstacles and sometimes getting in the way whenever a skater tries to work on their tricks.

Redditor named u/steezyghost has complained about scooter kids as it became a serious problem at his local skatepark.

Although some skaters were complaining, some are ok with them, just like Hill, who stayed connected with Reyes.

Hill mentioned that the skaters in New York were indifferent and didn't really care about him.

"A lot of people hit me up all the time to skate and the reason why I bring this up is because I got a comment that said, the only reason John's kicking it so much with a scooter is because New York skaters don't really mess with him," Hill said.

He then continued saying that it's not true by any stretch of the imagination. "New York is really the epitome of the meme where your friend comes into town and instead of saying when are we meeting up. You say, dude, you're going to have such a good time." Hill explained. "Because everyone seems to be very busy in New York."

Every time Hill plans to meet up and skate with New Yorkers, it just doesn't work out. It's such a flow where every single day he would film videos and, hang out with his fiance. He didn't want more than one or two people to intertwine in his life.

Hence, if he did, he wanted them to be someone who understood Hill's landscape which is filming YouTube, etc. and that's where Reyes came in and they had a lot of fun adventures.
