The Berrics has invited Canadian professional street skateboarder Micky Papa to share his thoughts on how skateboarding saved his life.

The 31-year-old regular-footed skater may be one of the best in the industry but, it was all hard work and determination.

Papa explains how tough it is growing up with a father that is quite strict.

"My dad is super almost military style, parts of the things that I had to do were like de-carpet the basement like by hand, no tools allowed," Papa said. "I had to paint the house sometimes with just a toothbrush. That was the disciplined building things that I had to do."

He also grew up poor and couldn't afford food nor heat in their house back in Canada.

The Vancouver B.C. Canada native has been working non-stop as the hurdles keep blocking his way, he kept pushing and didn't let a halt be an excuse.

Because of his positive energy and bright perspective, Papa got the chance to become one of the greatest technical skaters in the game.

With all the struggles he went through with his life, Papa showed courage. He repeatedly talks about how much he enjoys skating and loves his family and friends.

Watch the video below and, don't forget to show love to Papa as he is one of the best to share his personal life with the mass majority of the skaters around the globe.
