Miami's first skatepark, Lot 11 Skatepark, is hosting the first-ever annual Virgil Abloh skateboarding invitational to celebrate the late Off White and Louis Vuitton fashion designer and entrepreneur.
Abloh noted that one of his principles is that a new design can be created by changing an original by only three percent. He became notable in the skateboarding scene after he helped model Burberry Erry and pro skater Lucian Clarke launch their first LV skate shoes.
Since then, the success of the luxury fashion brand in skateboarding made Abloh one of the most respected designers of all time - and professional skateboarders are paying tribute after his passing.
"This is not a joke." Lot 11 Skatepark posted. "The first annual Ablih skateboarding invitational. A community event bringing together skaters from around the world in honor of Virgil's legacy in skateboarding.
