This is subjective and everyone has the right to wear what they want. Some skateboarders don't want to be associated with the fashionistas or people who only follow trends just to be socially accepted because skaters will look like posers that can't ollie. And some say don't wear Thrasher if you can't kickflip. It's like Kendal Jenner wearing a Slayer shirt but never listened to thrash metal.
Back when the legendary Thrasher magazine editor and chief Jake Phelps was still alive he kept it real and protected the image of Thrasher which is brand marketing 101. The Phelper says "We don’t send boxes to Justin Bieber or Rihanna or those f--king clowns.” He added: “The pavement is where the real sh** is. Blood and scabs, does it get realer than that?”
